DVG Schutzhund club in Utah county and we are excited to be serving the valley with a non-breed specific Schutzhund club. We are looking for a few more committed members with dogs of about 12 months of age and older. Experience is preferred but we are happy to help the first timer with the right attitude as well. Currently we are training obedience and protection in Payson Utah Saturday afternoons.

We are lucky enough in our club to have 4 certified and experienced helpers.

Steve Parsons is a regional championship level helper in DVg and also certified as Club level helper in USA schutzhund

If you do not know what Schutzhund is, please read this this link on what Schutzhund Sport is all about

July 2011 Scott Spencer attended a helper Seminar with Steve in California with Ted Hartman and Akin, and he certified as a club level helper in both USA and DVG Schutzhund. way to go Scott!!! Also in July we have had some great BBQ's, training and fireworks with Utah's new law that allows aerial fireworks.

August 2010 update:

Steve was lucky enough to travel to Europe and train with some of the best trainers and dogs. We learned a lot, made some great friends and were privileged enough to work some very fine dogs with the DVG Hovawart club in Dortmund http://www.hgs-dortmund-aplerbeck.de/  and SVO club in Salzburg Austria http://www.hundeverein-niedernsill.com/ . Many thanks to the wonderful people who made us feel welcome and shared their time talent and dogs with us, especially Helper Reini Steingruber who was an amazing athlete, has a good understanding of dogs, and was patient enough to explain to me the Austrian Helper program. I learned a lot just by watching him, and afterwards working with him. Helper Marc Fischer was also a great Athlete and good friend. He also has a very good understanding of building young dogs and preserving drive. Thank you everyone especially Cornelia Grabichler and Cazillia Van Mol for the invites! Thank you to all the wonderful people that trusted me with your dogs!

April Update:

The weather has been great we have been bale to train outside again which is wonderful, and Steve, Carl, and Ryan all had the chance to participate in another helper seminar with Ted Hartman where after extraordinary effort Carl and Ryan were able to get their club helper level certification!!! Congratulations guys you worked very hard. We are especially grateful to all the dog handlers who brought their dogs out for us to practice with. We could not learn in the sport without dedicated members like that who put it all on the line for us. We are also grateful to Olympus Schutzhund club for hosting the event and allowing us to come. Thank you Mac, Wayne and Ted for the instruction, mentoring, and great coaching. Thank you to all the other people who participated that were great sportsman, and huge source of encouragement and support!

Having fun in January at club

The weekend of December 4th-5th Steve (Club Training director), Ryan, and Carl attended a Helper training seminar in Fontana California with Ted Hartman. We were happy to be hosted by Coast Schutzhund club, and grateful for the great lunches they provided as well as a great rate on hotel rooms That not only allowed the dogs, but were exquisite in their accommodations. There were many great dogs to work with at the seminar and many new helpers being introduced tot he sport who had great attitudes and determination. We really had a great time and look forward to visiting Coast Schutzhund again.
